WHEREAS Councillor Valiquette-Thompson has requested a six month leave of absence for personal reasons; AND WHEREAS per Section 259(1)(c) of the Municipal Act, if the member is ‘absent from the meeting of council for three successive months without being a uthorized to do so by a resolution of council’ their seat become vacant; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Council for the Corporation of the Township of Severn grants Councillor Valiquette-Thompson a six month leave commencing September 1st, 2020; AN D FURTHER that the leave be taken without pay or benefits, and that the Township-provided phone and computer be returned to the Clerk.
